Well as you may guess I’ve decided that now is the time for me to get to that number 1 spot above Alex. I have been working away at developing my niche markets, so for a bit of fun I’m putting up this post to see if Google will enhance my position.

I’m not too sure though as it seems I’m sliding down the pecking order, as Alex’s Web 2.0, Business Motto is… don’t chase money – let money chase me, you have to understand making money online is all about positioning yourself, so I’m trying to position myself No 1 so I can get my hands on his $1,000, and that will pay my Aweber fee’s and Hostgator fee’s for a while and yes they are affiliate links, why the hell not, I’m targeted every day by the Guru’s trying to sell me the same old stuff I was selling a year ago, OK, maybe they’ve packaged it different and up’d the price but it is the same! 

Am I having a Rant sorry,  but now and again I feel I want to have go at someone .(Garry Simpson gets away with it!!)

Anyway Marketing with You is No 1 for Alex and he says “You have to go out and hustle to MAKE things happen”,  Hmm, Hustle, well one of my favourite TV programmes at the moment is ‘Hustle’, which is about a group of “grifters” or “Con men”,  as we know them, but I’m sure Alex just means push yourself forward, OK, If Andrew Fox is reading this post Can I Please Drive Your Boat, or Mike Filsaime lend me your NISSAN GT-R.

I think I’ll have to stop now, but then again, have you seen all those twitters going on between KOTOBOT, Dean Holland, Garry Parkes and Harry Harris, Hmmm, what are you guys up to? Intrigue, Joint Ventures, or are you all just going to go to the Pub, any invites?

A new task for the Students of Alex Jeffreys was to do a video which would help drive traffic to their website/blog, I have had many truly inspirational moments but trying to put them in a video would task even Steven Spielberg, (if he had to use a digital camera),  anyway I stand in awe at the quality of the videos the Students have on You Tube, and I’m sure they only have the same digital camera’s as I have. 

If you want to spend an hour or more being entertained then I suggest you go to You Tube and search for Alex Jeffreys, well done to you all, I must admit at being a little ashamed of myself for not getting a video on, but one thing I did not mention was Alex is offering a prize of $3,000 now if that doesn’t inspire you and me,  to have a go, then I don’t know what will. So go on have a go lets see by the end of the week every one’s video on You Tube.

Alex Jeffreys uses Twitter to communicate and make friends with people he has not met, a classic example was Maria Andros, Alex said he made contact with Maria on Twitter and then spoke direct.

So What is Twitter?  Twitter is a very simple concept and once you understand it you can use it to your advantage, just like Alex did with Maria, because Twitter is limited to 140 characters or less it makes it a very creative medium to work in.

Once you start using Twitter you become a Tweeter, it is known that even Hillary Clinton tweets, the more you use Twitter you more you’ll see the advantages it has for business, as it combines the best parts of blogging with the best bits of getting in touch with people.

When most people start using Twitter they just tell people what their doing, but you can use it to ask questions, ask for advice and network with people.

I have been asked by many of my subscribers to explain what is meant by list building, so here goes.

Having a product is good but it is NOT a business.

What is a business?  A business is having the products and the customers to buy your products, many people believe that by just having a product on a web site they will make money, sure the occasional person may stumble across the web site and buy, then you feel dejected and look for something else.

Which is why so many people fail in Internet Marketing, you may have heard it before but this is important, “ The Money Is In The List “ please learn this one thing you have to have a list before you can sell, or put it another way.

Imagine you have decided to open up a retail shop, you check out the area which you think is right for you go to the wholesalers and buy up your stock, you spend many hours displaying your products and pricing them up, you put up a sign in your window opening tomorrow.

When you open the doors of your shop you wait, your waiting for your first customer you only have a few that day and it does not get better what do you do? You decide to advertise, you’ve still got to pay the rent and wages and you still haven’t got a real business until you have customers. I know this is not always the case will retail stores but what I’m trying to get over to you is in Internet Marketing you haven’t a business until you have a list of customers to sell to.

So, you have to learn how to build a list of customers or list building as it is commonly called. So who is Alex Jeffreys? Well he lives in Wales in the UK with his partner Katie and their son Cameron. Alex started an on-line business in February 2004 and Alex did not realise the importance of list building for at least a couple of years (or more like it Alex did not understand how to build a list in the beginning).

When Alex eventually started to build a list he didn’t see much money coming in and so like us all he started concentrating his efforts on other things. E-bay  was where he made good money importing and selling motorbikes, and selling information products on CD’s through E-bay.

Then in 2006 Alex Jeffreys attended a seminar and Tim Knox became his mentor, he told Alex “the moneys in the list” and once again Alex concentrated on building a list so he could make money on Auto-pilot in the November Alex launched his first product Easy Profit Auctions, and then Post launch Profit Secrets.

Wow what an awesome night it was with Maria Andros (the Video Marketing Queen) coaching the students of Alex Jeffreys on the best way to use Video and You Tube for Internet Marketing on a Live Webinar. I am still going through my notes, I wrote seven pages in my journal.  

Maria gave us so much information and practical advice it was like having a one to one coaching session, and it was all part of what Alex Jeffreys is providing in his coaching program.  Alex is running another competition with prize money of $3,000 for the most creative and content filled video posted on You Tube by one of his students, does anyone know of good make up artist or in my case a miracle worker?

There is another coaching session tonight with Alex which I’m really excited about, and I’m sure I won’t see my bed until the early hours of Saturday morning.

Well the festive season has finished for this year, and this is my first post since December 2008, and what have I been up to, well, I’ve taken quite a bit of time out to relax with my family, and really try to put things into perspective . 2009 will I’m sure be a successful year for many if not all Alex’s students, I wish you all every success in your journey to becoming Internet Marketers.

A little poem that many years ago my then boss made me learn.
